I am teaching two adult art classes through Spring Branch ISD Community Education this fall.
I decided to make some entertaining flyers for the classes-
I used InDesign and Photoshop.

This weekend I put some work up for auction to support the Houston Entertainicle Fundraiser and Exstravaganza.
I don’t have pictures of all 6 pieces I donated- but here are two . . .

Generation:Landslide

Recently I was asked by the band Generation:Landslide to create album artwork for there forthcoming record. The album is very melancholy and I wanted to express this in the artwork.

I did a few sketches of each of the band members and played around with some pens and ink for a rough draft. I couldn’t seem to capture the mood- until I played around with some toned drawing paper and white acrylic paint as a ground. Finally- I liked the direction I was going. A couple drafts later and I added the delicate line work and birds. (my favorite part of the artwork)

The birds withering up in a unforeseen and looming tangle of string just screams melancholy. I am very pleased with the result:

Crushed Bird Flyer

Hello All,

I love creating artwork for music venues and live music shows.

Here is an Illustration I created for my husband’s band- Chelsea Hotel. He wanted a bird being crushed by a hand- very epic and dramatic. I decided to go with rich black ink and lots of layering. To give the hand and for-arm depth I added layers of hatching and detail line work with ink and a brush. The bird is made up of many layers of watercolor and ink washes along with pen detail work. I decided to make the bird a crow- mostly because crows have intense eyes and I wanted to incorporate that intensity in the piece. I am very happy with the way it turned out.

The additions (text and background) were completed in Photoshop by my husband, Curtis DeGidio.
