Crushed Bird Flyer

Hello All,

I love creating artwork for music venues and live music shows.

Here is an Illustration I created for my husband’s band- Chelsea Hotel.  He wanted a bird being crushed by a hand- very epic and dramatic.  I decided to go with rich black ink and lots of layering.  To give the hand and for-arm depth I added layers of hatching and detail line work with ink and a brush.  The bird is made up of many layers of watercolor and ink washes along with pen detail work.   I decided to make the bird a crow- mostly because crows have intense eyes and I wanted to incorporate that intensity in the piece.  I am very happy with the way it turned out.

The additions (text and background) were completed in Photoshop by my husband, Curtis DeGidio.
